Dumfries and Galloway is a wonderful area to explore on foot. With countryside that varies from hilly uplands to beautiful coastline there is a wide range of places to discover.
There are dozens of books and websites which have some great resources to help you explore the area but the Dumfries and Galloway Council website stands out as one of the best as it highlights walks right across the region, based on the ‘Core Paths’ – key public access routes.
However with 115 walks spread over such a large area to cover it is inevitable that some of the information on the Council website is a little dated, so I have put this blog together to share what I have found as I set out to walk all of the routes.
Details of the information I have included in the walk pages can be found here.
